First, I apologize if this has been discussed before, I have searched the forum for a solution to this but the discussions I have found have not been related to Docker so I am unsure of how to solve my problem.

I subscribe to an IPTV service and use it through NextPVR using my Xtreme code credentials, it works perfectly right after I set it up. However, some of the channels are special event channels like PPV, NFL game pass, etc. These channels stop working after a while, it appears that the IPTV provider changes the URLs to the channels and NextPVR is still looking for them under the URL the channel had when it was originally imported. If I manually go into NextPVR settings I can get the list to update again. I need to go through the process of selecting the groups I want to sync again (I only pull about 5% of the provider's channels into NextPVR), and then its back up and running.

I was wondering if there is a way to automate this process when running NextPVR in a Docker container? I have researched some threads that appear to be a similar issue and seen discussions regarding NScriptHelper.dll -serviceConfusedetting.m3u.update but I am not sure how to accomplish this from my Docker-compose file, or if the methods discussed in these threads are still the current best practices for resolving this.

Appreciate any advice, thank you.

See https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=62419 I don't think anything has changed and you can't update using XC login. If you follow the link your provider might support the m3u list. However that m3u.update URL won't work for you it will automatically add the 95% you don't want.

Perhaps create two IPTV source one with the static stations and the other for the station that need to be redone regularly.

Thanks for this info. I was able to pull the channels into NextPVR using the "m3u_plus" and xmltv urls from my provider that I derived using my XC creds and was still able to filter out the groups of channels I don't want. However after setting this up yesterday I logged in this morning to see that some of the channel names were out of sync with the provider (PPV 01 said Offline instead of what the provider was showing, although the URL was correct this time, not sure if that is because it properly updated or because the provider did not change the url for the channel in the last 24 hrs). I had to re-download the channels just like I did when I was using XC codes in order to get it to update. Perhaps the provider had just changed the channel name and I needed to give it more time, I will continue to monitor, but was wondering how frequently it is supposed to attempt to update?

Thanks!

NextPVR never updates the m3u on its own so the channel name shouldn't change. The EPG data is pulled by default daily in the evening.
