Hi there, i using a windows 11 machine as server and Formuler box as a client but all recording are slow to launch and to skip forward untill everything freezes. i have uploaded all my logs. Thanks. Luca.
NextPVR is doing what it should so this would be a Kodi or network issue. If you send your Kodi debug logs I could have a look before some advise on going to the Kodi forum
I did notice one occasion where you tried to use the Forumler box shortly after the server had been restarted. It does take about a minute for the client to reauthenticate when you restart the server.
When I see the very short skips you are doing the response is typically in milliseconds but I suspect you are fast forwarding not skipping and FF doesn't work very well over a network. I didn't see a freeze but the data isn't changing very fast.
I am testing the same Kodi on my Formuler but i dual booted on Zorin Os and recording are faster to respond, so i would say it's a Windows issue, any drivers or different codecs i could try?
You have multiple clients and that will impact how spot tests compared. The sample size is too small to draw any conclusions and there are too many factors to say what is the different but without Kodi debug logs any further investigation is a waste of time.
Codecs are not involved in direct play to Kodi. NextPVR is responding to read requests quickly typically in tenths of milliseconds and I stand with my recommendation not to use FF. Perhaps turning off any Windows firewall and tweaking Windows networking will get you a few more milliseconds. However if Zorin OS is faster for you why not use it.
