Using the latest NextPVR for Apple TV with the latest tvOS release, as well as the latest NextPVR release for Windows on each "server". I have anywhere from 2 to 3 NextPVR servers listed in the servers list on my Apple TV App. If I go into one of the servers and begin watching a channel, it works fine. If I back out to the servers list and pick another server, the guide displays, but trying to play a channel results in a black screen (no playback). If I “swipe close”/"force close" the Apple TV app and open it again, I can go into the non working server and play a channel without issue. Rinse and repeat for any combination of servers I try.

I do notice that if I monitor the tray icon/stream detail on the first chosen NextPVR “server” (all Windows 11), the tray icon and detail indicates the stream continues even when I’ve backed out to the main servers list and chosen a new server in the Apple TV app. For lack of better words, it seems like the app isn’t “releasing” a stream when backing out to the server list picker, only when “swipe closing” or “force closing” the app.

Is this expected activity, or can anyone else recreate this?

Live TV recording will occur after you stop playing and it is longer if you exit without stopping so that is normal. If it isn't stopping after a minute that would indicate a problem that needs logs.

I gather that you are not actually running multiple NextPVR servers. Assuming that is true, only one of the servers you see listed is the real local IP address of the NextPVR server. Additional IP addresses are reported by the NextPVR server to the client in certain circumstances, such as when the computer running the server is also running a VPN client or a virtual machine. You should select the correct IP address (the one that is actually on your local subnet) and ignore the others.

This issue is known to the developer and I understand it will be sorted out in due course.

Yes, there are three separate physical computers running a separate install of NextPVR.

Does the Apple TV app only support one active "stream", so I would need to stop the playback and then wait ~1 minute before switching servers?

I don't know the app but certainly it is bad form for a user to change servers during playback without stopping. I was talking about the server side recording of Live TV that does continue when the client stops.
