Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)

I searched the forum for this error and there were several hits.  I read through them and my issue doesn't seem to be the same as them.

Server specs: i7-3770@3.40 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTC 960(2 GB), Hauppauge Colossus 2, Bell Satellite 6131 STB
NextPVR Version: 7.0.3.250920



Run NextPVR.exe and the channel tunes and video and audio display correctly.
I used to be able to view video via WebClient.
When trying to run via WebClient (http://x.x.x.x:8866/), select the item via the Guide, select Watch then
"Starting Device.  Please Wait"
"Receiving Data"
"Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)"

Same behavior on multiple devices.

That message is pretty common and often a catchall but in this case it is appropriate since the error is based on you enabling h/w encoding

2025-10-28 22:39:31.117 [DEBUG][18] [FFMPEG]: [h264_nvenc @ 000001a9a4affc00] Driver does not support the required nvenc API version. Required: 13.0 Found: 12.2

There are three options,

- First thing I would do see if you are running the current drivers which might use the newer API. This will be the most efficient

- If you used h/w decoding prior to 7.0.3 you can also downgrade ffmpeg by installing an older version into "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Other". Looking at the ffmpeg source https://github.com/FFmpeg/nv-codec-heade...ts/master/ it looks like any ffmpeg before March 2024 will be ok. This is an ffmpeg recommended site for prebuilt Windows versions https://github.com/GyanD/codexffmpeg/releases

- If all else fails enable s/w decoding

Thanks Martin. The issue appears to have been the Nvidia driver. I updated to the latest and all is well now.
