PVR350 and DVD out?

I've set up GBPVR with a Hauppauge PVR350 using the 350's output mode: however the DVD option disappears when I do this (it worked using software playback). Is there a way to re-enable it?

You cannot play dvd's through the 350's tv-out (not supported by the hardware), that's why it's disabled.

Thanks, I suspected it was the case. Guess I will have to use sw then.

Seems strange you can't play through the hardware out: an mpeg2 stream coming from a HDD file is not that different from mpeg2 stream coming from a DVD (once decrypted).

Its not that simple. There is much more than standard mpeg2 video on a DVD. Most DVDs contain AC3 audio which isnt understood by the PVR350. Also the menus etc are big problem for the PVR350 - it wasnt designed to display this type of information.
