Hi everybody

When I schedule a new manual recording, I'm able to change the name prefix of the recording, according to my needs of archiving, and so on.

When I schedule a recording from the Tv Guide, the name prefix is always the name of the show...

I would like to select the name prefix of the recording, because of the way I use to name the recordings, but I don't know if it is possible, can somebody help me?

Thanks a lot for yours answers. Sorry for my bad english.

Try using the "RenameRecording" plugin. It may not do exactly what you want, but does rename the recording to the episode name, and removes the date/time from the name.
If you read through the (very long) thread on Rename Recording, you'll find a download called RenameRecordingS, which works even better. It's on about page 7 or so in the thread.
You can never have enough tuners!

Well, I have take a look at Rename Recordings plugin and it looks great, but it doesn't help me in what I want to do...

At the moment, I run a python script in postprocessing.bat that rename the recordings the way I want, but with the starting format:

channel_[date].mpg

Then, I want to have my recordings clasified by the channel, and the only way the script can see it is the name prefix of the recording. If the name prefix is "Evening News" instead of BBC, I can not see what channel I have recorded.

Maybe looking for the show name in the xmltv file? It seems a little bit sluggish, but it could work. I will tell the forum if it works, perhaps something is interested.

Regards,
