I seem to be having the same issue with the usb portion of the new dvico dual tuner card see here:

Recording works fine other bda applications are able to use the card without problem. Any luck in resolving your problem ?

I'm having the same issue, only I can watch live tv but if i try changing the channel or exiting live tv, then trying to get back in, i get the blue screen message stating bluebird2.sys caused it. This is with a fresh install of GBPVR, no plugins, no other capture hardware, on my test box.

Hi Torque. I've got the obj ref error too. Did you ever see this or did it work straightaway? What version of the DVICO drivers are you using? What decoder in the playback tab? What is your Interlacing setting on the Misc tab? Have you customized the BDA.ini file?

Never got an object ref error. Just works the first time, then bluescreens the machine... but only when trying to watch Live TV. I've tried Dvico 3.11 up to the 3.3 beta drivers. On my test box, I used the Zulu decoder that gets installed with the device. Also tried a trial version of Nvidia's PureVideo. Interlace setting is disabled when you force Timeshift mode. I do not have a customized BDA.ini just used what came with ver .95.16.

I disabled live tv mode and forced Timeshift mode, it worked OK with GB. I am able to tune about 6 channels, 3 of them are ones I really wanted... but for some reason, 2 of them record ms-dvr files and the other a mpeg file?!? I'm not very HD savvy, so maybe this is normal.

At any rate, I moved the device to my dedicated HTPC (see sig) and tried to watch HD programming. The integrated video was way underpowered. I put in my 6800GT from my test box/office/game machine, and video was fluid but would 'hitch' about every 5 seconds. Poor 2100+ CPU was pegged while trying to watch a show broadcast in 1080i . Tried nVidia PV decoder and it was a little better, but still not perfect. Checked IRQs and all the other stuff I had read about on the AVSforums (within reason) and all looked good. HTPC would play HD programming almost perfect using Dvico's viewing software... but I still had a little hitching.

Forcing Timeshift mode sucks, since it takes so long to switch channels, but I was going to put up with it if maybe Sub would look into it. But since my HTPC's HW isn't up to snuff for HDTV anyway, I'm just going to send it back. All these little annoyances aren't worth 3 channels. Plus, with a decent video card in my HTPC, video quality was pretty damn nice. My wife and I compared the jerky HD quality against some regular stuff coming in from Dish Network and really didn't see as much difference as we thought we would other than the HD being in 16:9. The 6800GT really makes the picture quality nice, especially using DVI, so I have a Gf 6600 256MB I'm gonna put in it.

I've narrowed it down to a GBPVR issue since the device works perfectly with Dvico's own software on my test box.
