Help Please:p
My Hauppauge HVR-2200 (analog) ignores Quality Profile settings set in GBpvr.
The Mpeg encoder filter defaults to VBR 6000avg/6800peak & 384kbs audio for all recordings, regardless of the settings I set inside GBpvr card Quality profiles and recording option.
I would like to set the medium profile 3500/7200 224kbs audio as the default and I can live with not being able to choose quality profiles inside GBpvr, just not at the current default bitrates.
I can set the desired bitrates and record from both analog tuners simultaneously to dump files in Graphedit and verify the recorded bitrate in gspot.

Does Gbpvr snapshot the encoder filter's settings on first (re)install ?
I can set my desired defaults first in graphedit. This was the way I set the default bitrates for way old Ati550 Pro card before starting MCE2005 for the first time, which then snapshot-ed the filter settings and saved them as permament settings. The ati 550 pro ignored quality profile settings too.
Or is there any other way to change the recording bitrate for this card in GBpvr?:confused:

PS I used the following Hauppauge reg file to get Channel scanning running in GBpvr and the TuningAssistant
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hcw89\InstanceFallback]
"hcwRawEnabled"=dword:00000001

Unfortunately the Hauppauge_tweaker tool does not work with this card.

You could try editing the direct.ini file and set the HVR2200 section to use INIT_MODE=DEFAULT. It might help.

Thank you, I wasn't expecting such a quick reply
The INIT_MODE=DEFAULT worked for the video bit rates but audio is still stuck at 384kbs
but that's good enough for me.

Thank you very much Sub

Yeah, it wont help the audio bitrate. You'll have to stick with the default.
