I had this problem with one of my TVs (a Toshiba) and on reading other forums found it was caused by the MVP putting out too high a voltage to the Video Blanking (pin 16 I think) when on Standby.
My solution was to snip the connection on this pin and it now works fine. I am working away in Dublin during the week so cannot check the original posting details or double check which pin I snipped but it is the MVP to blame and NOT your TV.
