Hauppauge PVR USB2

Has anyone set up one of these to work with GB-PVR?

Ive been tinkering for some time and still cant work it out.

Can anyone suggest some settings please?

As it stands, when ever I click Live TV, GBPVR seems to freeze.

It does seem to create a file called Live1_0 but its of zero size.

Any ideas please?

You could try downloading http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVRWriter.ax to replace the version currently installed in the gbpvr directory. This may correct the problem.

I too have a Hauppauge PVR USB2 device and my initial search and change of settings i can not get GB-PVR to view the screen. The latest message is 'Failed to communicate with the GB-PVR recording Service'

Sub, i did down load what you advise no change.

I currently use Digiguide V6 and wish to continue to use this as this fires up my recording all a-ok. What i was hoping to use GB-pvr is just to use the view tv, play music and recording options. I am right that i can use GB-PVR without setting up you EPG and so forth???

You wont be able to view tv or use any of the recording options without setting up a capture source and configuring the EPG.

I've also got a problem using "live tv" on gb-pvr. Whenever i select this option the application freezes. I looked into "gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log" and found an entry "Attempting to auto detect MSP Standard" being the last in the log. I guess this is the detection mechanism for my pvr card which causes the freeze. I downloaded the "patched" GBPVRWriter.ax but the problem seems to remain.

I'm using a "Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2" having this configured in "Direct Recording Configuration". I'am not sure about the option "Board Number". For what is it for? I've chosen "Capture Card#1".

Can anybody help me?

I dont have one of these devices so debugging problems can be difficult.

Its not a long term fix, but you could try editing direct.ini. Find the
[Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB] section and add a line that says CONEXANT=0. This *may* help.

I modified the direct.ini as descriped but the problem seems to remain the same.

PVR USB2 has been confirmed as working correctly for the next release (v0.18).
