Hi,
Subject says it all. I have a show set to record repeatedly, and every once in a while the show just fails to record, but leaves a 0 KB file and says "Ready", like everything went fine. Then when I go to play it, it goes to the "contacting servers" screen, presumably because something can't handle this exceptional case. Anyone else had this problem? My only thought is that perhaps I can try manually tuning the frequency, but in the past I've only done that when I get no audio, or some more obvious problem. By the way, my hard drive has plenty of space. Thanks,

Brian

I have a 1.7Ghz P4 PC with 512MB RAM, IDE 7200RPM disk, one WIN-PVR 150 card, and 2 Media MVPs, running 0.92.11. Sorry I should have posted that. Any other info that would be helpful?

I had a few lame thoughts, like perhaps if the pre/post show padding is too large, and show A is not done yet, but show B is scheduled to record, then perhaps B starts recording anyway even though the tuner is not available, resulting in a 0 KB file. I have no idea if that's possible, just a thought. Other than that, can't think of why the file would be empty.

Check your av connectors. I had similar problems and switched av cables and that took care of it. Also check any other input and also the show schedule. I know if I have a program scheduled and it does not actually come on the telly the pvr will log a 0kb recording for it.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The only av connector I would have would be my cable line that goes into the pvr-150. It seems to be of good quality. What exactly do you mean that if a scheduled show does not run during its timeslot that it records a 0 kb file? Wouldn't the pvr just end up recording whatever else was on during that timeslot? How does it know that the show that's supposed to be on is not actually on? Thanks.

Next time it happens, send the logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look. Include a complete description of the problem, what you expected to record, and at what time.
