Maybe I'm missing something, but whenever GB-PVR uses timeshifting or recording functions of my PVR-150 my normally widescreen video (i have my computer hooked up to a widescreen TV) goes into a vertical 4:3 letterbox mode. Is there anyway for the video to be stretched to widescreen like SageTV does? I love GB-PVR but the 4:3 timeshifting letterbox drives me nuts. If I stop the recording or timeshifting and go back to live tv through GB-PVR it resumes to fill up my entire screen again. Also whenever I play any recorded stuff it letter boxes as well. If I play the recording back in a MPEG plater that suppoer widescreen, the move isn't letterboxed and fills my 16:9 screen. Seems the only thing that gets stretched to 16:9 properly is true live tv through the overlay. Seems to me that the mpeg decoder isn't support 16:9 stretching?

Whats also weird is that if I record at 720x480 (which I think would by widescreen, I still get the weird letterboxed 4:3 display on my widescreen tv.

Strange thing is the WinTV software that comes with the PVR-150 does the same thing and leterboxes to 4:3 on my 16:9 screen.

SageTV is the only PVR software so far that seems to support stretching video to 16:9 when timeshifting/recording.

Hope I'm clear on the problem...

Any ideas would be apreciated...

I think I might be an idiot. Is there a comand in the software to change aspect ratio? Perhaps F7? I'll give that a shot tonight and post back if I still have problems...

By default to GB-PVR tries to stretch the video to be fullscreen regardless of whether you're watching live preview TV, timeshift tv or an existing video. If its not going to fullscreen for you, then it must be a limitation of setup. It works on my widescreen tv.

Try changing your video decoder and/or video renderer (Overlay/VMR7/VMR9).

Thanks sub...

Strange thing happened. I basically uninstalled GB-PVR and reinstalled it then it worked fine. Perhaps something stranged happened with my first setup as I was really changing settings, trying different drivers.
