I'm running GBPVR with a Haup 150 and nVidia 5500. When I watch a recorded show on my TV, I usually select "Clone TV & Montior" under display settings on the nVidia menu. This means everything on my desktop is now on my TV.
Is there a way to set things so that while GBPVR will run to the TV, I can still do other things (such as surf, etc) with the computer? In other words, have the TV-Out and VGA out display different things.
On the display setting menu, it also allows me to select TV & Monitor under Vertical or Horizontal Span. Not sure what this would accomplish.
Thanks again!

Edit: Also, for other programs, the TV and Monitor will show the same thing, but when GBPVR runs a recorded show, the primary display shows it and the clone goes black

I'm wondering the exact same thing.

In fact, I just got my computer hooked up 2 days ago just like you to my new HDTV bigscreen which is just a clone of my computer.

I've been using a Media MVP on an upstairs TV, but downstairs where my computer is, I was just watching GB-PVR shows on the computer.

I don't know if this will help you, as I run an ATI card. But there is a setting called "Extended Desktop Mode". Basically what this does, is it outputs a "blank" desktop to the TV, and you can drag applications over to the secondary display. This will let you maximize gbpvr on the TV, and you can use your computer/main display like gbpvr isnt even running, assuming you have the horsepower...

I'm running GBPVR with a Haup 150 and nVidia 6200. My vid card supports dual monitor. In display properties, I choose dual monitor mode and make my computer monitor the primary monitor and my tv the secondary monitor. This way I can have GBPVR displayed on my tv and I can surf, do whatever on my computer monitor.

I've got an ATI also, and now I see how to extend it to have GB-PVR in the 2nd monitor which is my TV.

Is there a way to have GB-PVR open automatically into this 2nd screen so I don't have to manually drag it over there with the mouse? I don't want to interrupt my wife when she's on the computer when I want to watch a recorded show.

Another question I have is about the audio from GB-PVR. I've got a couple RCA cables running from my computer over to the TV. I've got some computer speakers hooked up to the normal on-board computer audio jacks. Do I need to get a separate sound card so that I can get GB-PVR audio coming from the TV instead of my computer speakers? Is it possible to have GB-PVR audio playing on my TV while the computer speakers would play whatever is in monitor 1?

Thanks

hello folks
I have just started using gbpvr as i got my pvr150a couple days ago. and i believe i can asnwer GaretMax's question.

garetmax.. I currently have a setup similar to yours.. I extend my desktop.., and i just have the window dragged over on my second monitor (TV) and it does start back on that monitor as long as i closed it (I use windowed mode, but crop the res so only viewable TV appears.)

You mentioned the sound issue.. I found the perfect solution to this. I have a secondary USB sound card going to my receiver/TV its a small usb device that came with my old minidisk back in the day. Its not set as my default sound device in windows, but its set as the playback audio device under the gbPVR config.. so i can play games etc via my computer speakers, and GBPVR/music goes to my tv/500w receiver

I have a question about the extended monitor mode.. is there any way that I can have the app in FULLSCREEN mode displayed on the secondary screen? because at the moment its in windowed mode and i can see small blue lines on top/bottom.. i can get rod od the blue lines by making the res too high for the tv and haveing it setup so it crops but it doesnt work as well.

EDIT: i Just answered my last question.. I activated ATI Hydravision. RUN GBPVR in full screen in my main monitor.. ALT TAB out,. right lick on the taskbar and click (move to monitor 2). the only think is that it wont restart back in monitor 2.. but since i leave my comp running,., its a non issue for me

Thanks Paf,

Awesome, that works for starting back into monitor-2 just like I want it.

I'm going to go get a sound card now for some more GB-PVR fun.
