I had everything working yesterday but today the channels do not change thru TV GUIDE (using keyboard to select channels in the keyboard).

Observations:

1. The TV GUIDE loading is extremely slow!
2. Yesterday when I selected a channel from the GUIDE the USBUIRT would send appropriate signals to my STB and worked but today the USBUIRT is not sending any signals!

Got the following error when exited from GBPVR.

Enclosed the logs as well.

How many channels and days of listings do you have? What CPU do you have? and how big is your gbpvr.db3 file?

From memory you can get an error message like that if you exit the app before the tv listings finish loading in the background.

1. 100 channels (guess - pruning as I write this)
2. 15 days
3. Intel dual core 6400 2.13 Ghz + 4 GB of RAM
4. gbpvr.db3 is 88,790 KB

Why does the USBUIRT not work now? Does the log give any indications on the transmission? Yesterday it worked! FYI, I select channels using the GUIDE and KEYBOARD

I do notice there is lots of Weather plugin messages in your logs while its trying to load your TV Guide. This could be causing it to take a longer. Maybe try disabling plugins temporarily to see if it makes any difference.

As far as I can tell the USB-UIRT is working. It doesnt return any errors. Check its pointing at the receiver on your STB.

I have noticed that every so often my UBSUIRT just stopped working, more so now I use standby. I have a script which is run at resume which restarts the UIRT using devcon.

Here is my dilemma! The "ATI CATALYST MEDIA CENTER" plays the STB TV absolutely fine - flawless!

However, if I try viewing the TV using GBPVR LIVE TV the picture struggles! The whole PC slows down once I use the GBPVR UI! It seems to me a "massive" resource hog!

Can somebody help me trouble shoot this problem?????

This sort of thing usually comes down to the decoders you're using. Which decoders are you using?

This is pretty vague. What exactly is happening? Is the GB-PVR processes using lots of CPU or something else?

There is a period of high CPU activity that takes place immediately after starting the app, specifically loading the EPG in the background. On my 40 odd channels with a week of listings, this takes about 5 seconds. Some people with 500 odd channels and 14 days of listings have reported it taking a minute or so, but after that its going to use pretty much zero CPU unless you're view video etc.

Some background.....

I was using GBPVR without the STB and it was working absolutely fine (used ffdshow decoder)! But I am unable to get this working with STB!

I have tried each and every decoder in this list and nothing seems to fix the shuttering video!

I am not making this up! I had the GBPVR running and was trying to browse the internet using IE and the whole thing goes in slow motion (slow!) - I sincerely feel that I have hit upon some "unique bug" I can understand couple of minutes delay in downloading the EPG! but not 15 minutes!

If you want me to test in any way please guide me and I will follow your instructions!

The only difference when you add your STB is that you're now using your USB-UIRT. Try running without your USB-UIRT to see if it performs any better - sure it wont be changing channels on your STB, but everything else will be exactly the same. GB-PVR is not doing more work when your using your USB-UIRT, other than telling it to change to channel X when you recording or change channel in live tv. Between these GB-PVR is doing the exact same stuff as before you started using your USB-UIRT.

Did you try looking into which process was generating high CPU usage. Was it just IE? IE could have just shit itself for some reason and needed a reboot.

Yes stopped USB-UIRT and rebooted PC.

Interesting.....

The "resource hog" has vanished! But the video of the LIVE TV in GBPVR is having trouble - I see frames moving rather than a complete video!

I always have been using ffdshow as my codec (this worked without the STB before).

And also the ATI CATALYST MEDIA CENTER is playing the CABLE flawlessly.

I have attached the logs as well.
