If I setup TWO sources in my EPG, e.g.

1. Broadcast TV via the tuner and
2. DSLCable via the S-Video input

Then

Q1. Should I use a different xmtv.xml file for EACH of them (e.g. Broadcast.xml and Cable.xml) or the same one for both? I know the latter works. I can set up my EPG grabber (TVxB) to run two different ini's.

Q2. Is this the way GB-PVR's EPG xml sources was intended to be used?

Q3. If I use ONE xml file, then the channel assignment (from the xml file) is OK for the Cable channels but when I save the EPG in config it appears to "assign" a new set of channel numbers for the Broadcast channels, which follow on from the numbering of the DSL Channels. Any idea why this might be happening ?

e.g. in my Grabber setup, the two Broadcast Channels in my XML file are 51 and 55, and the Cable ones are 61, 65, 74, 74, 76, 84 and 85. The Two Broadcast Channels are "assigned" Channels 86 and 87? DSL ones are fine. Any hints?

! Broadcast Channels

[tvbpearl.hk]
name=TVB Pearl
name=51

.

[english.atvworld.hk]
name=ATV World (Eng)
name=55
.
! Cable Channels

[abc.hk]
name=ABC
name=61
.
.
etc etc using 65, 75, 76, 84 and 85.

Hi jksmurf,

Did you get an answer for this?
Did you find out the answers yourself, maybe?
Can you please share?

Thanks,

In this case you should setup two capture sources, each with a different XMLTV EPG source.

Sorry sub, I don't understand your answer to jksmurf's questions.
Nor do I understand how this answer relates to my situation (i.e. two capture sources that can record the same channels).
Sorry,

Q1. yes, if they have different channels, then yes by all means use different XML files. If they have the same channels, or most of the same channels, use the same XML files.

Q2. yes
