I have been playing with net radio on the new release. The sound quality over my suround sound via my MVP is kind of tinny, like a transitor radio. It also sounds like this on the PC. It sounds the same way using fm radio from my 150mce. I thought it was just the 150 tuner in the past but I would think the net radio would be a good clean sound. I just do not know what to expect. I just have onboard sound on my PC and cheap speakers but the MVP plays through the suround sound. Is there something to set or do I need some other decoder, etc?

When you're using the MVP, all the audio decoding is done natively on the MVP with nothing I can tweak.

It could be the source? Try a few different net radio stations to see if they all sound the same. Either way, there isnt anything you can tweak in GB-PVR that will effect this.

The FM radio can sound a bit tiny because of the default low bitrate used with the lame encoder.

I was listening to one last night, and I noticed the same thing. It definitely sounded like audio compression errors/too low a bitrate.
Sub, is there a way that the bitrate of a net radio stream could be displayed?
