Interesting - My PC that locks up with both PC and Gb is an Asus MB (its an Asus A7v8x-x) with an award bios.
Both of them lock when I download channels.

I wonder if there is a setting in the BIOS that would help. Sometimes things like turning off PNP OS wiill help but I think that this is something in the PCI setup of an award bois.
Your asus does have award bois right?

Also since the lockup occurs when accessing the internet (downloading channels) through the only other PCI card in the PC (the ethernet adaptor) I think that there is a conflict with the 550 pro card and some other PCI devices. I will see if there are any settings in the cmos that might help.

EDIt - okay on a roll here on possibly solving my own lockup problem. I found an updated award bios that is supposed to solve some problems with ATI Video among other things. When I get around to flashing it and putting the 550 pro card in that PC I'll let you know if it solves the lockup problems.

Yes. TVxb will read the ini file, and contact the web site(s) listed in the ini file, and download some web pages and eventually write an XML file which you can feed into GB-PVR.

Make sure you read the INI file and remove any channels that you don't want, or channels that you can't receive, because that will make the running of TVxb shorter, and load the servers less.

Well, then it's not the same issue as I had.

As tevbill answered you - I recommend that you check for latest BIOS and drivers... It's usually a good idea, but don't be tempted by beta drivers, only official stuff.

Hello tevbill and GoodGuys, I can't exactly recall whether it's an award bios or not, but I'll check. It's the latest bios from asus though. I'll check it once again. I've got all the channels configured, but once I run livetv, it hangs. I don't know what to do next. TVXB ran without problems.

@ jang - did you try all the VMR9/VMR7/Overlay Manager options?
Are you using LivePreview mode? Try disabling if yes. Try the different deinterlacing options for LivePreview also.

disabling livepreview worked. Thanks for the help. Colors seem washed out though. I will try different type of livepreview to see if I can get better results. At least, I'm assured now that there's a mode that's working. BTW, would you happen to know how to get the remote working with this program? Also, this program runs in windowed mode. How can I make it full screen without having the blue title bar or windows above, and windows start menu below?

Thanks for all the help (tevbill and Goodguys)

The remote that comes with the Sapphire Theatrix and the TUL/PowerColor Theater550 is a CyberLink remote. It is unsupported as of right now.
Sub said he will support it if he gets a sample of the HW. There are now 2 people who agreed to donate enough money for Sub to buy himself such a card (they are 'csy' and myself).
The deal is that anyone willing to donate some amount (however small) in the next couple of weeks, will do so and tell Sub that this donation is towards the support for CyberLink remote.
At some time in the next couple of weeks, csy and I will make a last round, and together donate the remainder of the money.
We'd appreciate your participation, if it suits you.
Thanks,
GGF

also just to note - I have the best luck with the Cyberlink remote set to MCE remote in gbpvr config.
It gets all the basic commands, like channel, volume, back, stop play and pause.
There a a lot of specialized keys that dont function and of course there are no color keys.

Also I plan on donating sometime soon,I will just have to resurect the ole paypal account, unless neteller is accepted which I doubt.

Thanks, and I will try this software for some more time. I will consider your suggestions about the donation.
