Can you just set qbpvr to record a one hour movie?

Hello there. I'm new to gbpvr. I notice that when I watch livetv, there's always the bar above saying whether 30 mins. or 1 hour. What's that for? While watching a movie, can I just press record and set whether it's 30 minutes, 1 hour or 1.5 hours? My epg isn't functioning well.

If your EPG and channels are not working you can manually set the information and choose the time frame you want to use. This is in the recordings tab as "manual recordings". It will record whatever channel the tuner is seeing.
