Hi,

i'm trying to get my Twinhan DVB-T Card running and GB-PVR always says
that the MPEG2 Demultiplexer isn't installed.

The Original Software works perfectly (TwinhanDTV + PowerDVD) with
Record - Timeshift - Playback ...

My System :

P3 1 GHz
384 MByte SDRAM
ATI RadeOn 9550 VIVO VGA
Win XP SP2 (fully patched)
DirectX 9.0c

Moonlight MPEG2 DeMuxer

Someone an idea ?

Hiya,

Perhaps try

(i) try re-reg your PowerDVD Mux ? THMpgMux.ax?
(ii) Another Mux? For BDS device there are 3, Cyberlinks (PowerDVD), Intervideo or Showshifter

Try the BDA Muxchecker utility to see if any are installed

See also http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/Codec#toc3

Cheers and Hope you get it sorted

MuxChecker says :

NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE.

I tried to register them manually - no effect ...

no more ideas ?

Two things.

1) For some strange reason the TwinHan software deregisters the Microsoft Demultiplexer when you install their DTV software. You can reregister it by running: regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\Mpg2splt.ax

2) The output from MuxChecker shows you dont have any MPEG2 mux filters installed on your machine. This means you can not record .mpg files. You'll either need to set your BDA Multiplexer option to 'Microsoft DVR-MS' which will record .dvr-ms files instead of .mpg file, or install a mux filter.

thnx

i dont know why my system didnt register die ax file ?!? it says that its succesfully
registerd, but the muxchecker says always the same error massage.

when i use the dvr-ms bda multiplexer i can start the software, can configure the
channels and watch live tv, but no timeshift and recording possible.

Altough i have to update the BDA drivers from twinhan so that i have to drivers called :

TwinHan PCI BDA Capture Driver
TwinHan PCI BDA Tuner Driver

and not :

DTV Video Controller
DTV Audio Controller

But now the original TwinHan Software didnt find the card anymore ...
Is it not possible to set the name for gb-pvr manually that i can let the
DTV Drivers installed ? They have a very higher programm version ...

2.4.1.1 instead of 1.2.1.9

There is TWO different issues. One to do with a DEmultiplexer, the other to do with a multiplexer.

DEMULTIPLEXER: By registering the mpg2splt.ax, you have corrected the first of these issues. For some strange reason the TwinHan software deregisters the Microsoft Demultiplexer when you install their DTV software. You have now re-register this, so this is no longer a problem.

MULTIPLEXER: The output from MuxChecker shows you dont have any MPEG2 multiplexer filters installed on your machine. This means you can not record .mpg files. You'll either need to set your BDA Multiplexer option to 'Microsoft DVR-MS' which will record .dvr-ms files instead of .mpg file, or install a mux filter. Most people dowload and install the Cyberlink Mux (MpgMux.ax)

What happens when you try timeshift or recording with the DVR-MS multiplexer?

There is more to it than just the name of the drivers. GB-PVR cannot use the DTV drivers. These are proprietary to TwinHan and do not follow any industry standard, so GB-PVR doesnt know how to "talk" to these drivers. GB-PVR is only compatible with drivers which implement the BDA standard.

when i use the dvr-ms and set live tv to timeshift the program jumps to mainmenu and
live tv didnt work until i restart the program.

o.k. i thought i understand the thing with the BDA drivers now Smile

With my DVB-T Card i got the PowerDVD Software which is already installed, deinstalled,
reinstalled ...

The Original Software works with it, there i can record to mpg files and use timeshift ...
But the gb-pvr software is even more handy with my myHTPC project ... i almost created
a new theme, which fits perfectly into my myHTPC theme ... and everything is absolutly
remote control friendly.

i think ì'm too stupid for this world ... Sad or the computer only wants to make me angry ...

I found a software on the net
http://www.lifeview.com.tw/drivers/pci_c...1.4.28.zip
where the mpgmux.ax file is included ... i registered it and now MuxChecker finds
the Cyberlink MPEG Muxer ...

I try out whats your software will do now ...
