I am still getting regular dop-outs watching live tv on the MVP and was wondering what else to try and if you had had any success?
It wouldn't be so bad if it JUST dropped the connection, and restarted the service. But when the MVP drops the connection, GBPVR merrily keeps recording LiveTV, so I have to keep going upstairs and restarting it. Grrr...
I have the thing on a wireless (G-only) connection with one router set up as a bridge and the (WDS connection) other hooked to the GBPVR PC (also the main PC connected to the internet). I don't think I need a switch (as proposed as a solution earlier this week) as the Bridge router is a switched router anyway AFAIK, and the MVP is the only device on the router.
For anyone else looking, some solutions seem to be:
1. Revert to an earlier dongle.bin (the earlier ones comes with 94.13 anyway) but you need to unplug/replug the MVP to load it.
2. Increase the MVP pre-play delay.
3. Use the MVP via a switch (to isolate it from your network).
4. If all else fails, "Go Wired".
5. Get a beefier (or separate) HTPC that doesn't interrupt the GBPVR Video/Audio Stream when someone is using it or e.g. NAV runs.
6. If wireless, watch microwaves and cordless phones.
The above solutions are all contained in various MVP threads.
