Is MediaMVP still the obvious choice for remoting video from PC to TV? (eg DSM-320?)

Got my PVR500MCE Installed. Streaming to the DSM works fine. Wireless is choppy (no surprize here) but works perfectly wired.

So in Postprocessing, the command line argument is the complete path to the recorded file? Also, is there a file that's called when a program is deleted?

Quote:Can you post some images samples taken with a digital camera showing what GBPVR looks like on your D-link Media Lounge 320.
Unlike the MVP, you dont get GB-PVR on the DSM-320. Instead you get it's own user interface, and it just browses files and plays them.

So on the MediaMVP does the interface basicaly display static images that get updated when there is a change? Like when you move the highlighted button, it sends a new static image (whole screen)?

I tried getting a MediaMVP but RadioShack say's they've been discontinued.
Oh well maybe later.

Look like I'll just have to use my DSM for now. I just need to figure out how to have GBPVR Break up the recordings to under 4 Gigs for the DSM.

Out of curiosity, has anybody got both the MVP and DSM320, that can compare the picture quality? I was over at a friend's place on the weekend who'd gotten the DSM, and it had beautifully clear and crisp menus. My MVP menus look like crap (a bit blurry, and the window edges are warped). Fortunately, the recorded programs seem to play perfectly fine, so I've not been too bugged about it.

So, is this poor image quality something that can be fixed (ie. adjustments somewhere to tweak), a general problem with the MVP, or a problem with my specifiy MVP? Has anybody any suggestions on fixing it?

Oh, btw; Costco is still selling the DSM320 up here in Canada; $199. That's where the friend got his.

Hi,

maybe, there is another possibility, some KISS DVD players like DP-1500, can access remotely using KML pages, that they are similar to the HTML pages.

Using KML, you can send commands to the server using the IR Remote control as a pointer, like the webadmin plug-in uses the mouse on a PC.

It would be possible to rewrite some parts of the webadmin's HTML pages to send KML pages to this player and then interact with GBPVR.

The DSM-320 definately has a better quality video than the MVP and supports more formats. If your TV supports S-Video you should use it with your MVP.
I have my MVP on S-Video and it looks better. I put my DSM on the component inputs and it looks real nice.

I'm still emailing D-Link asking for XRT2.1 support to be added to the DSM line. if they ever do that then the DSM would be useable with GB-PVR. Of course if sub added remote-redirection. I could use my MVP's Remote control and just have GB-PVR push the images and videos to the DSM.

Hmm. we could use one button on the remote to toggle between configured devices and have an IR Extender for whatever rooms we want to use the remote in.
