If it has BDA compliant drivers you should be able to get it to go by adding a section to the BDA.ini file with the appropriate settings for your card.

If it is the A761 or A771 it won't work because avermedia never came through with BDA drivers for them. Anything later should have suitable drivers.

Try mediaportal for the A761 I believe they hacked together a way of getting it to work, but by all accounts its not 100% for all users. But the nova-t is a good bet for gbpvr as you will be able to use the remote out of the box on gbpvr. If you want cheaper get the compro dvb-t200 and hip software to control the remote but as this is a hack it might not work 100%.

Thats why I won't buy another avermedia product. I have an A761 and I so nearly bought an A771 for my second card on the basis that their product support told me back in June '94 that there would be BDA drivers released in the fourth quarter of that year. Luckily about that time DVICO relased BDA drivers for their cards and I went for them instead. My A761 gathers dust...

In terms of hardware I think that all of the current generation cards are much of a muchness. I believe that the demodulators of the older cards such as the aver A761 and visionplus did not implement forward error correction as well so you got more errors in your recordings. The DVICO BDA drivers work well for me and seem to work well with GBPVR.

Hey guys and gals, forum newbie here.

I've had a play with this ere fine set of software and am finding it pretty damn exceptional.

Righty, onto my question! I have ordered the compro dvb-t200 card and will (obviously?) wanting to use the remote to control gbpvr, you mentioned in your post about some hip software to allow use of the remote, could you give me some more details (or point me towards somewhere that has some).

Cheers

Andy

Err herbs are you sure about that? Maybe you are talking about the USB version here; I have never been able to get the remote control to work with GB-PVR on my Nova-T 909 PCI... I don't think the BDA drivers provide a method of accessing the remote control??? It doesn't even work with Hauppauge's own DVB BDA-app.

The usb nova-t2 works fine and I'm guessing you have the old technotrend 909 with BDA drivers then that won't work, if you buy the new 909 actually the really named 90002 (the 909 is on the packaging still) it should work.
