Using a Sapphire Theater 550 Pro in Windows XP Home. Latest drivers and latest GB-PVR im having a problem with 1 channel not coming up correctly.
Zap2it: Cable - Comcast Los Angeles
Channel 5 is tuning channel 27

When i go into Live TV and try to view channel 5 it actually shows me channel 27. Viewing channel 27 works fine. Using the tuning assistant doesnt show this problem. Tuning assistant shows the proper channel 5 and not channel 27.

Here is the info Tuning Assistant gave me for each channel
Channel: 5 Frequency: 66000000
Channel: 27 Frequency: 234000000

Go into the capture source settings, and check which channel number is entered against channel 5. I'm guess it says 27.

Source channel for KTLA 5 is channel 5. Sad I've also tried emptying the EPG and just adding channel 5 manually and it does the same thing. I dont understand why!

If you've been running some other PVR or TV software (or freqcopy), then some of these mess with the system tuning tables, effectively stuffing up the original default settings.

You could try entering the frequency in the place of the channel number, as this will cause it to ignore the default system frequency for that channel.

Is there anyway to delete or edit the system tuning table?

Yes. You need to go into the registry. See Manually specifying frequencies

Thanks for that, looks quite complicated. I'll just leave it alone until my next clean install since setting the frequency in works just fine for now. Hopefully something else wont go wrong.

My brother installed ChrisTV without my knowledge, so that's probably what screwed everything up.

Picachux,

It's really actually quite straightforward, just take a minute (and a deep breath) and you can do it. Here are some steps, try to just VIEW what you have first first, then maybe you can understand it a bit better so you will be confident to change it:

1. In Windows, hit Start, Run, and type regedit.
2. A Window will pop up, which is the registry editor.
3. Either Search for "TVAutoTune", or manually click to run down the tree to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TSXX-Y where XX = Country Code (e.g. 0 for US, 44 for UK and Y=0 for Broadcast and 1 for Cable).

until you find the TVAutoTune Section. I attach an example of what it looks like. This e.g. corresponds to the example in the WIKI.
4. Check the frequencies associated with each channel (Each DWORD Value). You can modify these by right clicking the DWORD against the channel and choosing Modify.

The WIKI has some more detail in the FAQ, but it's fairly straightforward

Cheers
