i guess you have one (or more) mvp server running?

every an mvp-server is closed it is restarted almost immediatly. but when the compy is shutting down (and therefore closing all apps) windows wont allow new processes to be started.

something for the wishlist :-)
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

I'm also getting the same error message. I have two MVPs on my system. I'm sorry, but I don't understand the quote (above). Can you, or someone else, please tell me what it means?

Thanks.

I have the same issue as well but my system just powers through it and shuts down anyway. If you have an MVP server running, Windows attempts to stop it during shutdown, but as soon as it does, GBPVR restarts it, I guess thinking it stopped due to an error. Sometimes this goes into a loop and Windows throw the error listed above.

Yes, mine powers through to shutdown as well. I should have mentioned that. I see the error (and hear the error sound effect) then the machine shuts down.

I think I understand. When windows shuts down, it first asks all the processes to shut themselves down. So, the MVP process shuts down, but some other process (which windows has not yet sut down) has as one of its tasks to watch over the mvp process, making sure it doesn't die, and when it sees that the mvp process has gone down, it tries to restart it. Windows does not allow this since the machine is shutting down...
I'm not always right
