start in timeshift

is there a way to get it to always start in time shift
so that if you are watching a show and then decide to save it
you will get the entire show

Whenever I watch "live" tv, it starts in timeshift mode. There is a setting which I can't remember right now (too much wine ;-)) in the config app to make it start in time shift/"live" live. Look around and see if you can find it. I'm sure you can.
