I saw this on the SHSPVR boards about a week ago:

Looks like the same picture to me, though. I already run an MVP in the bedroom with a 802.11-B (yep, B) game adapter and it works fine; admittedly it is not that far from the access point, and it stutters like mad on video >4000 Mb/sec, but everything we record with GBPVR works fine.

I didn't have to put a switch or hub between the game adapter and the MVP either, as some have reported.

Yuck. They put the aerial on the front. That won't look very pretty sitting under my TV. Or am I just being fussy? Smile

Why on earth would they put the aerial on the front? I agree with you and don't feel that it's being fussy.

I guess maybe they're assuming that you're going to put it in a cabinet under your TV or something, so the aerial would need to be in the front so it get around the shelf above it? Just trying to see some logic... Wink

Yeah, this is why Radio Shack is basically liquidating the wired MVP stock. Frankly, I think they're insane as wired is definitely the way to go. I have enough problems with 802.11G and the various notebooks in my house, I really don't want to have to troubleshoot it for watching my TV shows.

GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally
insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

Anyone notice the "pMVP" in that same first link? If that thing has a hard drive in it in addition to being wireless when your at home, that would be pretty cool. If it doesn't have a hard drive though, it would lock you in to your home range too much to be very useful.

Looks like it's only out in the UK and Germany -- anyone across the ocean know anything about this gadget?

The picture shows the case is identical to the wired version (cost cutting on the design I suspect). I've opened my MVP and without a major redesign of the circuit board I could see how they'd have trouble fitting the aerial on the back. Shame they didn't redesign the case.

Yep. I spotted that. It isn't directly listed under Products on the Hauppauge UK site (they're always so slow with updating those pages).

I found this by Googling though...
