Occasional users might find Paint.NET much less intimidating to use. [I have found that I could/can use Paint.NET for about 95% of my day-to-day production work, although it is missing "actions" which can be a HUGE productivity boost in Photoshop.]

This is a completely free (and open source) application brought to you by the students at Washington State University. You will need the .Net framework installed, but hey, if you are already running GBPVR . . . ;-)

Good luck.

I think Paint.Net (At least last time I tried it) is missing Gradients....GIMP Shop has a fairly robust Gradiant tool.

Merry Christmas. Great skin!

One issue: when I made a .PNG named YourImage.png sized 300x300 as described in your readme.txt, the resulting image is slightly cropped left and right. (Not just on MVP, but this even on a very high res. monitor with GBPVR mazimized.)

Any ideas why?

Sorry for the delayed response.

I just double checked the xml code for the skin and I couldn't find the problem. But sometimes I just don't see very well.

Could you post a screen image?

This is still true (as of version Paint.NET 2.5).

However, "ricklous" did not request that feature for a recommended editing application.

Also, it seems the vast majority of photo editing software users need cropping/resizing, adjustments (i.e. levels, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, etc.), and maybe some "critical" effects -- such as blurs.

Sorry, I can't upload an image showing the error. I have it working as of 12/2 and GAF (girlfriend acceptance factor) disallows messing it up! ;-)

However, I can tell you I am now using a PNG @ 211Wx300H for it to work.

It is possible I was getting a clipped image because I had content to the very edge of the 300x300 image. [I always try to maximize the use of the room I am told I am given . . . ]

One image you supplied with your skin is "MyImage.png." This image depicts 2 children playing in a mini-jeep -- shown inside a vignette. The file dimension is 300x300, but the actual image area is approximately 250Wx270H. [Your "ShotPersonal.png" shows it comopsited with the skin.]

This usage could explain why such images work for you (i.e. no clipping would be apparent because the clipped area contains no image information).
