strange audio and image issue

I have my PVR350 recording well now,but occassionally when i activate live TV or even playback via GBpvr, the audio level is dropped to the minimum. This only happens with GBpvr.

It also will display a black and white picture just as often, and this is rectified by starting WinTV2000 (even whilst GBpvr is running) and it will automatically correct the colour!

What could be the cause of these bugs and how can i rule out if the problem exists with my HTPC or GBpvr?

It may or may not be the cause, but you could try deleting the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Devnz\LastVolume registry setting. It might help.
