Hi there,

I upgraded my HTPC from XP to Win7 (32 bit) and copied my gbpvr.db3 and config files over. Everything seems to be working fine with my new install with one exception. When my recordings fire off the channels don't change. (using a USB-UIRT to a Motorola Cable box - recording with an HD-PVR) If I launch PVRX2 and use the guide to watch live TV it changes fine. Its only my recordings that don't change. (It records fine on whatever channel the cables box was left on) The log doesn't have any errors and indicates that the USB-UIRT is sending the correct IR codes to change it but the UIRT doesn't actually do anything. I deleted the Capture sources and re-added and re-configured them and I am still having this error.

Any ideas?

You might need to edit the 'GB-PVR Recording Service' service settings to enable the 'allow service to interact with desktop' setting.

okay - I did that, rebooted but its still doing the same thing. Again, in pvr if I select a show in the guide (that is currently on) and choose "Watch" it will change the channel - if I select Record it doesn't change the channel.

Reproduce the problem and post the logs and I'll see if anything stands out.

Unfortunately in the logs it looks like it's doing its thing without any error.

I know - I looked at that before I posted. There must be something different with the USB-UIRT control in "watching" vs "recording"?

They run the exact same shared code. It most like something about the account its running from. ie, watching happens as your account and in your desktop session. recording happens in a different account in a background desktop session.

I've already disabled all the User controls that come with Win7. Its strange because everything looks like it is doing what it should. Its recording but I am just missing the IR blasts...

It probably wont help you, but you could try the attached utility with the '.exe channel changer' instead. It takes two parameters. The first is the file definition, the second is the channel number, for example...

"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\IR Definitions\USB-UIRT\Coolsat 5000" {channel}
