Resume from suspend/hibernate for recording

Is it possible to resume the pc from a suspend/hibernate mode to do a scheduled recording? I don't like to leave my pc running all the time, because it costs too much electricity and it makes too much noise.
What do you need too wake up a pc? (I've got an old Compaq presario P866 with a hauppauge PVR350 card. It has a wake-on LAN option, mayby that can be tweaked?)
And if it is not possible, do you leave your pc running all the time or do you have a smart solution?

GBPVR wakes up the computer for recordings, if the computer is in suspend or hibernate mode. It works perfectly. You shoudn't have to do anything special to make this happen. It also wakes it up for EPG update, but for that to happen, you must make sure that the corresponding tick box in the config app is selected.

One thing worth noting, if you have scheduled the recording to happen at 3:00, the computer will start waking up at 3:00. You will want to make sure you have enough pre padding for the recordings, so you don't miss the beginning of the show =)

In addition to the post by stefan. On some machines it is required to enable wake on alarm or wake on rtc in the bios for gbpvr to be able to wake the machine.

As I see you're using a pvr350, there are occasions where the card doesn't function properly after standby or hibernation (depending on the pc and the drivers installed). Then you can use gbpvrwake.exe and wake.cmd in combination with the microsoft tool devcon. gbpvrwake and wake are downloadable from the forum, but you have to search the forum for them. devcon can be found at microsoft.

Cool, didn't know that. I assume that depends on what is default, I sure haven't fiddled with that setting on my machine =)

I think this only applies if you use the tv-out on the 350. Otherwise you don't have to bother.
