I'm starting a new thread based on posts here, since they weren't getting away from the original problem and I didn't want them to get lost. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=11000
These seem like two separate but somewhat related problems.

I'm just going to paste the text in to avoid retyping - see the other post for more context if necessary. Note that I have live preview off.

Quote:I can schedule recordings and watch them from the GUI. However, when attempting to watch live tv via the GUI it displays a black screen saying it is starting timeshift, but it never leaves that screen. Also, GB-PVR becomes unresponsive to the point that bringing another window to the front and then closing it leaves the GB-PVR window unpainted. I have to forcefully end the process. The live tv file gets created and starts to grow, and I can view it in media player (after GB-PVR is killed and releases the lock). I am not getting any information about an error in the logs, either. This is still 94.13.

b00sfuk's problem:

Quote:Sorry to hijack this thread but the subject is connected to the above and I guess the original problem is corrected now.

I have problems with LiveTV Preview with my PVR-150 card (latest drivers with 95.11). Occasionally after resuming from standby (S3) I get a black screen with LiveTV Preview and any subsequent scheduled recordings are 0bytes. I think it causes an issue with the card/drivers as a full power off (not restart) is required to reset it. I've tried devcon but it says the driver is running and restarting has no effect. There do not appear to be any errors in the various logs that could be the cause (rather than effect).

If I configure for always Timeshift (instead of Live Preview) instead then the problem does not occur (or has not done yet). So are there any differences in handling a PVR-150 between Live Preview and timeshift mode in Live TV? Thanks

Any ideas of what to look for?

I dont understand the link between the two quoted blocks of text above. They seem unrelated to me.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll see if I can see anything obvious.

Okay, I stopped the service and closed the tray app. Then I removed all old logs, started the service, ran the GUI, and selected watch from a channel in the guide. The screen went black with a message like "Starting timeshift mode TV. Please wait.", then stayed there. The GUI process was eating up all the CPU, the mouse disappeared when over the window, and I had to forcefully end it. After I killed the GUI, the live tv file kept growing. Then I stopped the recording service. However, my computer froze at this point, so I restarted in safe mode to get the logs unaffected. This is a clean install of W2k and I think it goofed up resource assignments or something since I've been having these stability issues, but I don't think it is related to the live tv issue because live tv used to work. Anyway, if you see something obvious let me know. I hadn't seen the "Found expired lease. Stopping recording." error before.

You'll need to stop your MVP server and then repeat and repost your logs. While the MVP server is running, copies of GBPVR.exe you manually run one produce logs (this is because they both produce the same logs, and its first first server, with the other not producing logs).
