I have an mvp using with gbpvr and use the hauppage pvr-150 mce. I have noticed lots of people have mentioned that they have issues with video files that they have encoded from some other format into mpeg-2, being able to fast forward and rewind. I fall into this category and encoded some files using tmpgenc.
If this is an encoding issue, what would you suggest would be the best option for encoding avi/divx etc. files into mpeg-2 such that it will run as well as shows that have been recorded using the hauppage pvr-150 or at least be able to fast forward and rewind?

I am able to watch these movies using the default hauppage software. Is there a way to be able to change to default hauppage software and back for watching videos and back to gbpvr as needed?

Thanks for all your input and great software, sub!

No solution for re-encoding ... but:

I did set up a task to launch the Hauppauge MVP software from GBPVR using My Programs. It was a one way process as there was no way to switch back. So a pc reboot (or manually switch off the MVP service at the PC) was required.

I'll find out the details and post them here. It's no longer set up on my config but I'd like to add it back in now anyway.

EDIT: Just set this up again as follows:

Create a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Hardware\start.bat
Use My Programs Plugin to point at the folder where the shortcut resides.

I also have shortcut to batch files that will shutdown or reboot the pc.
