I notice that Olbia includes the SpecialElement
<SpecialElement name="MenuType" type="GBPVR.HorizontalMenuTask"/>

So I tried to use
<SpecialElement name="MenuType" type="GBPVR.VerticalMenuTask"/>

GBPVR wouldn't start.

Is there a vertical couterpart to MenuType?

GBPVR.HorizontalMenuTask is a class name. If you leave 'MenuType' out entirely, then it'll use the default menu class, which is a vertical one.

Thanks sub.

Also...

With vertical menus, the spacing attribute in the SpecialElement specifies the vertical distance from the top of one button to the top of the next.

I notice in Olbia, the spacing is set to -8.

Can someone please explain this?

i just pmed you...the spacing is the distance from the RIGHT corner of one button to the LEFT corner of the other. this should explain it.

i hope, there will never be a plugin name beeing that long to overlap ;-)

Sub,
Olbia's selected button is bigger than the normal button. If he had not chosen always centered, would you recalculate the click rectangles each time the selection moved?

Oh yes, I think its good to have both. I have a really different idea for a horizontal layout that I have penciled in for 2007.
