Hi guys,

just wonder if gbpvr only succeeds running by installing WMP10.
I am currently running gbpvr v0.94.13. Yesterday I wanted to do an
upgrade. But, gbpvr v0.94.13 is the latest version to run. Later versions
quit starting:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
„See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** Exception Text **************
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: File or assembly name NativeUtilities, or one of its dependencies, was not found. File name: "NativeUtilities"“
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My system: Win2k SP4 / .NET Framework 1.1.4322.573 / Windows Media Player Series 9

Any suggestions?

Thx in advance,

I would have thought v9 would have done the job. I dont know for sure though, since I'm running v10 here.

Yup on W2K. I only upgraded after the update to try to cure the AxInterop.WMPLib error (which it didn't). In the ned I dleted AxInterop.WMPLib and the next time I started GBPVR in installed a later version Sorted Smile

Did you try what peterh suggested? Just delete the AxInterop.WMPLib file and windows should auto replace it next time you start GB-PVR.

Thanks guys!

Now it is running.... The AxInterop.WMPLib trick AND the installation
of DirectX9 did it!

Thanks, again!

I had GB-PVR up and running smoothly until this past weekend. Thanks to sub and everyone here for putting together such a great program. Unfortunately, my PVR PC locked up last weekend and required a reboot. Upon rebooting I encountered persistent BSDs and was forced to reinstall Windows.

Now, after a clean install of Windows 2000 (including SP4), .NET 1.1 (and all its security patches and updates), .NET 2.0 (just for good measure), and the MS data access components (as I learned is required by GB-PVR in the course of my initial install), when I attempted to install GB-PVR I got the below .NET error

"File or assembly name NativeUtilities, or one of its dependencies, was not found."

I encountered this problem with both the current and older versions of the program. After reading here that it was related to WMP, I installed WMP 9, and installed an older version of GB-PVR (GBPVR09516.msi) and it worked!

So... just to be clear... The complete set of system requirements for Win2K users appears to be...

.NET1.1
MS data access components (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en)
DirectX9
WMP 9

Given that WMP 10 does not run on Win2K, it would appear that the latest version of GB-PVR cannot be installed on Win2K systems without encountering the above error. The fix mentioned by peterh would appear to resolve the issue for users that want to upgrade.

Strange, my current setup consists of W2K with SP4, .NET 1.1, DX9, and Windows Media Player 7 - I didn't get that error when I installed the latest version.
