Recording Stability whilst multitasking

Hey All,

curious to know if anyone has had problems with the latest version of GBPVR whilst recording and say, browsing the web? My recordings will stop once i fire up the browser, through GBPVR thinks its recording until the time slot finishes.

I'm running an AMD 2700XP processor with 512Mb ram and recording onto a separate HDD so unless i have something stupid in the config, this seems a bit strange.

The only thing I've seen which can stop recordings dead in their tracks is if the sound card shares an IRQ with the PVR250.

The only thing on my system that I have noticed interfering with recording is burning a DVD and that just causes some dropped frames. I typically record at 6000 bps. I have an AMD 2800+ and one gig of memory. I'm using two tuners (350 and 250), I use an MVP for playback and I access the system with remote desktop from my main system. I do almost continuous conversion to Xvid with Auto Gordian Knot running at a lower priority. I also frequently move large files over gigabit to and from the system with no noticeable problems.

Any idea on the impact of printing? I always wondered if using the printer while recording would cause dropped frames or audio sync problems. It seems like when printing, the CPU use tops out at 100% for awhile. Maybe setting the printer to run at a lower priority would help.

printing would differ, like printing plain text would probably be fine, but printing pdf files would drop quite a bit of frames (my computer takes ages to print a pdf, sends like 300megs to the print (have to sort that out later)).

but i have a solution, dont print when recording im sure it can wait
