Hi,

I have been using bleb as a tv guide source for my 2 PVR-250s for quite some time now. But i am planning to install 3 new nova-t cards into my PVR machine and bleb doesn't seem to provide listings for all the channels i need.

So, with this upgrade in mind i have been running an XMLTV grabber in parallel, but not as an epg source in gbpvr. I just have it set up as a scheduled task and am manually checking it for consistency, and how far in advance it goes.

I knocked up a little utility in winforms & c# to load up the xml file into a table so that i can run queries on.

I have noticed that the listings differ. One show in particular is a documentary on five (uk) on the 17th of march at 21:00. XMLTV says it's about the apollo moon landings and bleb says it's about the roswell alien autopsy.

Has anyone else noticed any other discrepencies, or maybe you've recorded something only to end up watching a different programme altogether.

Thanks.

ive had this happen once or twice using XMLTV as a EPG for my NTL box.

IT happened on ITV where the timeslot was the correct length but the programme was different.

My sister in a different ITV region was watching the programme that was listed in the EPG, but i wasnt. Assumed it was some difference between regional ITV listings, but not sure how inconsistent they are, or if NTL has a naotional ITV listing and XMLTV is grabbing a different one...

I pull 'ITV Yorkshire' using Alan Birtles Grabber, but maybe the ITV im getting through the NTL feed is different, and the feed via freeview could be diffrent again? wouldnt suprise me.

It only happened that once though so i didnt bother doing anything more about it yet...would be interested in seeing how big the variations are that you are finding?

and are the differences on national stations or stations that have regional variations? I would have thought Five would be the same nationally.

the listings in the radio times magazine are over 2 weeks old, the radio times xmltv listings are updated every morning. bleb listings are probably not updated so may not reflect recent schedule changes

I know BBC news on Sky is BBC London, and does not give regional news, i imagine NTL would behave in the same way?

I think BBC news is where the card is regsistered? We get regional news fine.
