Cant watch TV, "RUN EPG"!!

if it just switches inputs, then whats the difference?

I think the difference is that the man that writes the software you are using isn't interested in supporting its usage for anything other than TV recording. (which is his right at the Author of the software)

Every new can has a fresh batch of worms, so you have to be careful about what cans you choose to open.
