I'm trying to get subtitle recording to work.

- Enabled it in the config
- Checked teletext using 'livetv' - works fine.
- Added the correct pagenumber for a channel in the capture source config
- Recorded a subbed show.

But I don't see any .srt file?

Checking the logs, I find:

4-11-2006 15:34:48.937 VERBOSE [23] initializing teletext subtitle page to: 2184

2184? I entered '888' in the configuration.

Any ideas?

If you enable the "use internal SRT viewer" option, do you see the subtitles while watching live tv?

Just tried it: Yes, that works.

Is the .srt file in another directory?
Or does the com skipping feature interfere?

It should be saved in the same directory.

I cant think of anything off-hand, but if you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs I'll take a look.

Try running the Re-RegisterFilters.bat file in the gbpvr dir.
Everytime I install GBPVR ( or update it) the subtitle parser doesn't register properly.

Ok, I'll try this first, and collect some logs if it still doesn't work.

Thanks all.

One more problem:

The .srt file created uses all lowercase letters, so the filename is often different from the .mpg file.

Is it possible to give the .srt file the same same, so XBMC can pick it up without manual selection?

*BUMP*

I just upgraded to the latest version.

Still got the name difference:

Eggheads_20060717_19001930.mpg
eggheads_20060717_19001930.srt

I still need to manually rename the subtitle file to "Eggheads_20060717_19001930.srt" for XBMC to pick it up automatically.

Add this to postprocessing.bat to fix the name of the srt file. Works for me.

Code:
Rem Subtitle file name fix
set srtname=%~n1.srt
set srtpath=%~dp1%
echo Renaming subtitle srt file to "%srtname%". >>postprocessing.log
pushd "%srtpath%"
if exist "%srtname%" ren "%srtname%" "%srtname%"
popd
Rem End Subtitles name fix
