fastest avi to mpeg2 command line encoder?

I don't really know but something obvious might be if %2 is as you say, have you tried making %2 = 600 for 10 minutes

yeah i tried 600 and 600000 aswell.

typo...you have a space before the i..... should be [ -i - ] not [ - i - ] and the bracket at the end i'm assuming is from copy/pasting..

other than that it looks fine...i also use -an to skip audio to make it faster a bit..

still haven't found anything near what the avivo compressor can do as far as speed...and it's decent quality [but only with cbr!!vbr doesn't work right] and also ATI have a noise reducer and a scaler that both work on the fly as DS filters..[insert them after decode and before encode]

cheers, yup the extract "[" was just a typo when i typed [/code].

and now its working i dont have to include mplayer in the installer now (that will save 7megs),thanks man.

I'm trying to write a batch file FOR loop to transcode a folder full of mpeg files to divx/xvid files- I prefer divx, but don't really care which. With that said, I cannot find a straight forward command line entry that I need to put in my batch file. I want it to mimic the auto conversion I have set up in GB-PVR, but it is taking forever to convert them individually hence my desire for a batch file. I'm pasting the config.xml entry below that I want to mimic, any thoughts? Also, I have run comskip on these files, but not comclean. I have heard conflicting stories about mencoder concern quality and its ability to remove commercials. What's the command line that I would use to just transcode through both ffmpeg and mencoder. Also, what's the toggle parameter to remove commericials via mencoder. I would like to compare quality, etc.
