I, I have just installed GB-PVR on a Compaq Deskpro EN (PIII 800, integrated graphics, XP). It works fine with WinTV2k btw.
When I go to live TV, I get a flash of live TV then a black screen. It doesnt help if I change channels. However, if I right click I get a text box up (test) and then when I clear this the video is there. And it changes channel OK - however, the position of the text box remains black - so a small black square in the centre of the screen remains.
My settings are VMR7 with the default playback decoders. Using other decoders dont seem to integrate very well (separate window etc), but dont display the same problem.

Help, because the application is fantastic!

thanks, pash

Have you tried VMR9 or overlay? These are better options than VMR7

If you get a separate window popup, this is because the decoder you have selected isn't compatible with you chosen renderer (VMR7/VMR9/Overlay). Most often this is because the user has selected the Cyberlink MPEG2 decoder that only works with Overlay

VMR7 can cause this black screen on some machines (resizing the window usually fixes it), but as colin says - its better to go with either VMR9 or Overlay.

You may have the same problem I had. Load the driver from SHS and use the PowerDVD decoder. On my system it uses much less resources than the Hauppauge provided decoder. The readme in teh driver zip has text about Hauppauge working on improving 3rd party software operation.
