I have set up an MVP over a wireless network using a Linksys WRT54GL router and Linksys WET54G bridge, running GBPVR 0.97.9. All seams to run ok except for slow menu scrolling and channel changing. When scrolling the menus I seam to get a stutter scrolling starts but once I have scrolled 4 or 5 tabs I seam to get a hang.
It also takes 9 seconds to switch between channels and there is an audio and picture hang between changes. I have tried to change some of the settings in the configuration menu (minimal osd) but still on improvement.

I would appreciate any advice that could be offered.

What speed PC have you got, and what type of capture device are you using.

Hi Sub,
MY PC HAS AMD 64 3200 2020Mhz, 1 gig corsair ddr ram, 250 gig western digital 7500rpm with 8mb buffer and I use a msi sli nfource4 mother board with 1 gb LAN. It seams to run well with all the aps I have tried.
I use a Hauppauge win tv hvr 1300 mce for capture.
im using ffdshow and declayer.

If you plug it in to go wired instead of wireless, do things improve much?

For the digital side of the HVR1300, I would expect reasonably slow channel changes on the MVP. It can take several seconds for the Cyberlink mux to start producing data each time the channels, which makes channel changing pretty misserable on the MVP. There isnt really much I can do about this - but I wouldnt expect it to take nine seconds. I expect about 5 seconds.

Thanks for the info I will try to boost my wireless transmission speed, I have read about some 3rd party open source firm ware for the router that’s meant to improve it so ill give that a go.
What card do you think would work best for reciving digital TV in this set up?

By the way the software, plugins and skins are excellent, I’m still struggling to get my set up exactly right but it’s worth the effort.
Thanks.

Your HVR1300 should be fine.

Peace back.

I assume tstngry means create a direct connection between gbpvr and the mvp (i.e. bypass the router), you would need a second network card to do this though...
