I've recently been experimenting with putting the PVR machine into standby when not in use. Things are fine with it starting up for recordings and it shutting down after.
But.... If I log in remotely (after sending a WOL packet) with a remote control program, the connection drops after the standby timeout period.
So the question is - what is windows XP looking for to reset the standby timer? I didn't think it was that list of stuff in the BIOS. Is there anything I can do so that remote control sessions keep alive?. (using NetOp remote control).
regards,
Martin
p.s. add me to the list of those who would greatly appreciate the MVP to be able to issue Magic Packets for WOL.
