Hi,

Watching Live Preview of DVB-T is flawless, but when I record the same show it drops frames very steadily. Usually I get around 5 secs skip free, and then it starts jumping every 2 or 3 seconds after that.

I'm using a Twinhan DVB-T 878, but I have a friend with an Aver DVB-T card who is having the same problem.

I've tried Twinhan drivers from 1.2.1.9 -> 1.2.3.8, but it makes no difference. I've also tried a couple of different cyberlink muxes, and tried recording using dvr-ms (it was less noticable, but still there)

I tried defraging the hard drive last night and tested it again this morning, but no luck.

I've attached logs in case it helps, but I'm out of ideas at the moment, so any suggestions are welcome

Thanks
Hayden

Could be lots of things.

If you playback one of recordings in some other player, is it fine, or does it also skip? This should tell us if it is a recording or a playback problem.

What is the output of mux checker on your machine?

What video decoder and renderer are you using?

What the general specs of your machine?

Hi, thanks for the reply

I can't playback the files in any other player with out skipping, it's a recording issue.

The only mux I have installed according to the mux check is Cyberlink 5.0.2022

I'm using the Purevideo decoder on a P4 2.8Ghz with 512MB RAM

Cheers,
Hayden

I can capture OK with the Twinhan BDA Capture Utility (THTSCapture), and there doesn't seem to be any skipping in it.

Can I use the [FAKE-DVB] Capture Source listed in BDA.INI to test recording from my .ts file, or I can provide a copy if it would help ?

If its at recording time, it can only be one of two things - the mux filter, or intermittent/poor signal. Other than the choice of mux, there isnt any setting that will make a difference to a problem like you describe.

True enough, cyberlink mux was the problem.

Downgraded it to 5.0.0813 and we seem to have the problem licked!

I'm sure I tried it before, but I tried so many things, I can't remember which version of Twinhan driver I tried it with !

I've ended up with Twinhan BDA driver 1.2.3.8 with the Cyberlink mux 5.0.0813 from AutoDVRconvert v1.3

Thanks again
Hayden
