Question About GBPVR

I had no idea that one is in fact watching the file as it is being recorded and not watching live tv as it is being recorded.

The slight difference between GB-PVR and the other PVR apps in this respect is the presence of Live Preview mode.

Most of the other apps are permanently in the equivalent of GB-PVR's timeshift mode, ie in a continual state of recording to disk and playing back that file.

When live preview is enabled, the video is not buffered to disk, instead going straight from PVR card to screen. This is very fast, and does not add significant delay seen in other apps. ...but...when it needs to do a recording, it has to do the same thing as all the other apps and just play the file as it records.

Also does GBPVR make DVD compliant MPEG2 files?

Yes it does.

. Also is there some way to work with one xml file instad of keep on downloading the same guide data for different apps?

Many apps can use XMLTV files, which can be downloaded independently of GB-PVR and feed to each of the apps.

Thanks sub. I will try out GBPVR and see how it works for me as soon as I find something that will give me a universal xml file that I can import into the applications I am looking at. Thanks for all your responsies.
