Hi!

I was looking to get another tuner card for my box, and I came across this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815100146

It is just a budget card and probably won't be very good, but I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with it? Most importantly, though, will it work with GBPVR?

I dont think it would work with GB-PVR. I dont think it has the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

Well, since that card doesn't work, How about one of these cards:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815100129

It doesn't say that there is a decoder, but if you look at the big square chip near the center, it seems to be very similar to the one on a PVR-150.

I was also able to find this card:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814144306

And this one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814122221

This one as well:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814144307

A powercolor one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815309001

Last one (I literally have pages and pages of results):http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815326001

Anyone have some opinions on any of these cards? Sorry to bombard everyone with so many links .

They're all odd-ball cheap cards without hardware MPEG2 encoders.

Just get a popular card like the Hauppauge PVR150 or ATI 550 Pro. It'll serve you much better in the long run. These popular cards are well supported and work with most apps (unlike those linked above).

I am kinda trying to budget, but I think I can squeeze another PVR-150 into it. I have one last question though. If I get this PVR-150:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116633

Will I be able to change channels on it with my remote from my other PVR-150? So, basically, will my old remote work on my new PVR-150? I assume it will, but I am unsure.

EDIT: Is this card acceptable?:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116626

It looks similar to the PVR-150, and it would save me some money (more for the bigger HD that I need to put in my box Big Grin).

No, its lacking the required hardware MPEG2 encoder. Go with the PVR150.
