Ok, ignore the fact this is file is geared towards Chameleon skin users right now. I might in the future be making PluginPacks that will be universal or compatible with other skins.

Within this zip file is a setup exe file. When run, it gives you the option to choose to install the skin file, and/or the Calendar plugin v0.7 files also.

The plugin and any other files will only update if it is newer than the version already installed.

After installation, you will be prompted to run the GB-PVR config utility.

At the end of the installation process, a log file is created detailing what files were copied and to where.

Is this user friendly enough? Does it go to far?

Good job!

You might want to offer the user multiple-choice options for a few different configurations for example:
  • Standard
  • My Series
  • X Series
  • Custum

Old Dog

I was planning on keeping it one plugin per download. Each skin variant would be included with that download (with multiple choices). That way, with a plugin download, as many skins as possible will support that plugin. I won't include skin files for skins that already support that plugin, since that means an author is maintaining that file (unless that skin isn't being actively supported anymore).

This isn't going to happen for a while though. Not until after the next release of GB-PVR at the earliest.

There are no changes to the skin system yet. There will be some in the future, but those don't effect what you are doing. The changes will make skinning easier. There is also some talk about changing the names of the image files, but nothing has been decided yet. Even if there is changes there, that is an easy fix.

Haven't heard from you in a while. How is your skin comming along?

Mhm... so i'll wait just a little longer to finish my skin ^^ I don't like to bring out 400 different versions; if the standard is clear, i'll publish the skin =)

The Skin works very good @ GB-PVR Basic, but i'll wait for a Skin-Standard @ gb-pvr before finishing it.
