Ok, first of all Sub if your intrested let me know... Zorro the developer only deals direct with Develpers now for a number of reasons.

First a bit of back ground - the app was designed for use in CarPCs ( check my home page out for more ) and now supports loads inc WM2005 Smile ( I'm a beta tester ).

Although its a standalone giving full mobile phone connectivity inc hands free in the case of blue tooth it has a full SDK which has been used by a number of CarPC front ends ( a good link ).

What I am suggesting is you may want to look at the same - eg hand free confs when you walk in the room, display of whos calling your mobile, control or even sync of your address lists and even SMS texting all via GBPVR.

Here is a white paper on the remote interface but I'm sure some of the guys on mp3car ( the link above ) may be help full in sharing the coding side.

Quote:Feature list:
View the phone book from your mobile phone and have the numbers categorized as Mobile, Home, Work, Fax and Other
Dial numbers from the phone book
Dial numbers manually
Send, receive and read SMS (MS SAPI 5.1 required)
Notification on incoming calls (name, number and picture - if available)
Mobile phone battery status
Signal strengh status
Mute your Media Player on incoming calls (such as WMP, Winamp, FrodoPlayer, Meedio, iTunes )
Current network operator
More than 20 supported user interface languages
Selectable layouts and designs (skins)
Design your own skin (a WYSIWYG skin editor, VisualDesigner, is included)
Switch from day to night skin
Control PhoneControl.NET from your application (API)
View Contacts database from MS Outlook®
New! Import vCards from other applications
Import contacts from other applications in CSV format
Plugins for Meedio available
New! Create your own SMS templates
New! Supports WindowsMobile® PPC PhoneEdition
Note: features are available on most supported phones.

The following functions are available on SonyEricsson, Siemens or Motorola phones:

View "Missed calls", "Received calls", and "Dialled calls" phone books
Remote Control: control other applications on your PC from your mobile phone (configurable for mouse, keyboard and other functions)
Use your mobile phone as a Multi-Tap input device.
Enter the PIN information (for standalone GSM modules)

This looks like a interesting piece of software. I will download it and try to get the Bluetooth with my SE T610 to work.
Is it possible with PhoneControl to upload/download music and pictures with more modern phones?
Would it be possible to control GBPVR with a mobile via this software.
Best Regards

Hi Mixman - what sort of control were you after?

I use the webserver using OperaMini as my browser - as it rescales everything for my SE V800 phone. Some people may think this is a little too much traffic if they dont have a GPRS plan - but it's convenient.

I also use the Sony Bluetooth remote control with a GBPVR template set up which allows me to control the PC while in the house (you can assign most buttons on the phone to any function / keystroke)

I'd like to get this app going with bluetooth - but unsure if I will be able to (I dont have that java API on my mobile - the one for accessing bluetooth wihin java I think is JSR-82)

Should do - thats what I used to use.

No but I spose if Sub did take intrest he could speak with Zorro over this. Due to massive piracy Zorro limited sales though third parties & developers... but hes a good guy and always open to new ideas.

This is what he says...

Quote:The Remote Keys Option is a feature that can be used with SonyEricsson and Motorola phones (others may follow).

It allows you to receive the keystrokes made on the mobile phone withinh PhoCo, which interpretes these keystrokes and raises user defined actions.
With these actions you for example can remote control other applications or use the joystick on your phone as a mouse replacement.

The actions can be easily defined in a external XML (KeyMap) file and can even be switched on the fly.

The actions consist of a predefined set, which allows you to:
- Send (Windows) commands
- Play sounds
- Read texts
- Run programs
- Move and click the mouse
- Switch keymap files

For a further explanation take a look at the "How to..." section of the PhoneControl.NET website.
I have only used the PPC version in my car TBH..

Hope that helps
