Is there a way to force windows to update the dvd title. Normally I wouldn't care much, but the dvd2mpeg seems to use the windows title to name the ripped file. This is resulting in overwritten files. The only way I have found to do this is to reboot the pc. Autorun is turned off and I want to keep off so dvd's won't start there own programs.

Thanks,
Brian

I think this belongs in the plug-in support thread if it has to do with DVD2MPG. That said, I don;t understand the question. DVD2MPG gets the title from the DVD volume name if one is present. Not all DVDs have these in which case it picks some generic name. If you don;t like the name, navigate up to the name (using the up button on your remote) and type in a new name if using the keyboard or using the number keys if using a remote. I don;t understand what the rebooting stuff is about.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear. An example would be that I put in a dvd (Total Recall) and either watch it or rip it. The title in both GBPVR and windows explorer says Total Recall.
Later on I go and take that dvd out and put another one in (young guns). The title in both GBPVR and explorer still says Total Recall. It still says this 2 days later even though Young guns has been in there for 2 days. If I reboot, it will detect the new title (Young Guns). I know this is not really a gbpvr issue, but I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas. It seems as though it is just not refreshing the title. I am not sure if this is because I have autorun turned off or not.

The only reason I care is because 1, all I have is a remote control, no keyboard; and 2, I am trying to make this idiot proof for my wife.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,
Brian

Does this happen with CDs as well? I had this problem a few years back when ripping CDs where windows didn't properly recognise that a new CD had been inserted and I ended up with hundreds of tracks all by one artist/album before I realised what had happened!
I can't recall the exact solution other than it was to do with the Auto Insert Notification registry setting becoming corrupt (not Auto play).
MS support gave me a reg fix to sort it out, but the details have long been lost to history....
If I'm right then this is a windows/ system problem, not GBPVR (can you try any other apps, see if the problem is system wide - I'm guessing it might be if explorer is having the same issue)
Somewhere (possibly in the CD/DVD drive hardware properties) is a check box for AIN - you could check the settings here. Or if you've gat a recent and legit install MS might be able to help you out again. Or Google auto insert notification problems for a fix....

Thanks, I looked up the autoinsert notification and found a check box in dvd decrypter to turn it on. Thanks.
