Is anyone aware of, or have and idea of how i would go about, integrating gbpvr with quenic or cce encoders and the save folders.

For example, if I wanted to record show a, and show b, both daily both broadcasts.
I set gbpvr to schedule the recordings, and save them to (ideally different folders, but if they are in the same Dir, name them show a-$date and b-$date)

With gbpvr and say a ShowCount++, or an outside program, watch that folder, once I have 4 episodes of either show ( $ShowCount = 4 ), run a batch file (which I have already put together - it takes x number of avi, mpg, omg, or mkv files and converts them via quenic to DVD compatible mpg and m2v files, then builds DVD ISO files with a standard DVD menu template using $filename as the episode listing on the disk). The ISO is output in My ISO folder with the name $show - $dates for my to burn later.

Is anyone aware of a program, plugin, or way to do this - cause gbpvr to record with specifically named output files, then run my batch once x number of files with a specific name are reached?

hmmm... sounds intersting, a program that I know of that uses watch folders is cleaner (by discreet) it watches one or more folder(s) and as soon something is in there it encodes to one or more formats. I don't think it can use a batch file like you described.

Why not call your script from PostProcessing.bat?

In your script you could count the number of files in a directory if = 4 then run your transcoding etc...

And I assume that PostProcessing.bat is a function in gbpvr that runs after a TV show is recorded?

That would be wonderful! I could run a batch file and save the show numbers in a simple text file database (which I could later print out and add as a page in my media binder - ya I'm a DBA so everything is cataloged Big Grin ) when $ShowCount = 4 I launch my bat files.

Very nice, I think this could work rather well. I will of course post my findings Wink

@SuMo, I googled cleaner by discreet and it returned the software as being for OSX. And while I intend to order a new mac this month, my TiVo will most likely be running XP - did I just not find the right tool? (I'm using XP primaraly these days, but I am writing this on Vista and frankly, I know it's beta but what I am seeing now is enough to make me finally get off my arse and get a mac so I booked the OSX links anyway Big Grin )

Yep - if it doesn't exist create it in the GBPVR directory

Check the wiki for more batch files...
