Hi,

In XBMC if one has the following files it shows up as meta data in GUI - Does mayhem3 behave the same way in GBPVR?

MOVIE.AVI
MOVIE.NFO (xml file)
MOVIE.BTN (plain vanilla jpg file renamed as *.btn)

Thx

on the home page (http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/uploads/Skin/mayhem3.htm)
it states 'Show metadata from Video Art & Info from IMDB'
so i would assume yes.
Does gbpvr support the .tbn format? (btw, it's .tbn, not .btn)
I have all mine as .jpgs. I didn't think tbn would work, but i could be wrong.

It was a typo... yes *.tbn

The meta data does not show up. I have a setup that works fine in XBMC and I thought that the functionality will be the same with mayhem3 implementation in GBPVR.

Maybe others can confirm.

mayhem3 is just a skin, it wont change the functionality of gbpvr, so unless the plugin you are using supports those files it wont display anything.

the video library does support a .xml file that contains metadata, but it must have the extension .xml not .nfo

Yes it does.... but it expects the following structure (confirmed by sub):

movie1.avi
movie1.xml
movie2.avi
movie2.xml

Hence will not work in situations where the files are in their own folders like....

c:\movie1\....
c:\movie2\....

XBMC has a good way of showing the meta data....but XBMC is very buggy in vista....

well you cant really expect gbpvr to work like xbmc, if you really want to show the info, cnovert the .nfo to .xml and place them in the same directory.

Reven, I cannot do it! I have all my movies in their own folders! And some folders have AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders

you have every single movie in a folder by itself?

so if you had 200 movies, you would have 200 folders?

dvd folders (VIDEO_TS) should show up in video library like "FolderName".dvd, eg "c:\movies\batman\video_ts" would appear as "Batman.dvd" in the folder "C:\movies" so i assume you can use "Batman.xml" there

I also store each movie/title in a folder. I do this so I may have additional files like a link to IMDB.com, folder.jpg, subtitle files and so on. It would be nice if the Video Library could check for mymovies.xml / filename(.avi).xml in subfolders and present the metadata. I have like 550+ folders with titles including DVDs/avi/divx/mkv...
